Treffurt is a town in Thuringia in the Werra valley, on the border with Hesse. It is known for its charming old town centre with many beautiful half-timbered buildings. These include the town hall, one of the most important half-timbered buildings in Thuringia. Over the town lies Normannstein Castle.
