North Rhine-Westphalia

North Rhine-Westphalia is the most populous federal state and is located in western Germany. It borders Belgium and the Netherlands and through the urbanized Ruhr area, is a central part of the “blue banana”. The Cathedrals of Cologne and Aachen and the Externsteine are well worth seeing.
