Halle (Saale) is the largest city in Saxony-Anhalt. It is home to the Leopoldina and the German Federal Cultural Foundation. The Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, one of the oldest German universities, and the birthplace of George Frideric Handel are both located in Halle (Saale) as well.
