Gera

Gera is the third-largest city in Thuringia. It was once the capital of the Principality of Reuss of the younger line. In the mid-19th century, it was one of Germany’s wealthiest cities, as many magnificent buildings still bear witness to today. The painter and printmaker Otto Dix was born in Gera in 1891.
