Marktbreit is a small town in Lower Franconia at the most southern point of the river Main. The town's name was Breit until it got the market right in 1557 by Holy Roman Emporer Ferdinand I. It is well-known for its historic town centre with a beautiful Renaissance town hall, a palace and old city walls.
