Stralsund is a former Hanseatic city in the north of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, located on the Strelasund. It is the oldest city in Pomerania and is home to the German Maritime Museum. Together with Wismar, the old town with many Gothic brick buildings forms a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
