Bad Brückenau is a small Bavarian town on the southwestern foothills of the Rhön Mountains. In the 15th century, curative springs were discovered, turning the village into an early spa town. It was the favourite spa of King Ludwig I of Bavaria, who visited 26 times and even ruled his kingdom from here.
