Maulbronn is a small city in the Northern Black Forest. It is best known for its UNESCO World Heritage Site the Maulbronn Monastery. The monastery was founded in 1138 and is considered the best-preserved north of the Alps. For a long time sandstone from Maulbronn was the cities most important export good.
