Lauda-Königshofen is a town in Baden-Württemberg. It is known for the folk festival "Königshöfer Messe", which, with very few exceptions, takes place annually since 1415. From 1400 the Church of St. Jakobus belonged to Heidelberg Uni­versity and subsequently was directly subordinate to the Pope.
