Lauda-Königshofen is a town in Baden-Württemberg. It is known for the folk festival "Königshöfer Messe", which, with very few exceptions, takes place annually since 1415. From 1400 the Church of St. Jakobus belonged to Heidelberg University and subsequently was directly subordinate to the Pope.
