Newark-on-Trent is a historic town in Nottinghamshire. It was probably built by the Romans and lies on the Fosse Way, a major Roman road. Later the Bishop of Lincoln built Newark Castle, which is now ruined. The town has a market square with many historic buildings, including the Queen's Head pub.
