Stamford

Stamford is a town in Lincolnshire near the River Welland. It is located at the Roman Ermine Street, but dates from later times. The beautiful medieval townscape has been the first monument protection area in England since 1967. Along with Burghley House, an Elizabethan mansion, it is often used as a film set.
