Strasbourg is the capital of the Grand-Est region and the largest city in the Alsace region. It lies on the border to Germany. The city is the seat of the European Parliament, the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights. The two city districts, Grande Île and Neustadt, are UNESCO World Heritage sites.
